The company that supplies gas in Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man has announced the appointment of a new CEO.

Graeme Millar, who previously headed up JT and moved to run its Internet of Things division when it was sold in 2021, has taken the reins at IEG with immediate effect.

Mr Millar replaces Jo Cox, who left the company in September.

He said he was excited to join the company at a "pivotal moment" in its history as it transitions towards net zero.

"I look forward to working with all our stakeholders to ensure we provide our islands with energy security and resilience that is safe, low carbon and cost effective," Mr Millar said.

Islands Energy Group is made up of three businesses based in Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man – Guernsey Energy, Island Energy and Isle of Man Energy.

It is the only gas supplier for domestic, commercial and industrial customers in the islands.

It also sells domestic appliances including cookers and washing machines.

Mr Millar spent 11 years as group CEO of JT, overseeing "the rollout of fibre connectivity" and a "commercial co-operation agreement" between JT and Manx Telecom, IEG said.

The company said he would "transition into his new role" over the next few months, giving him time to leave his current commitments.
