Council invests £13.5m on repairing county's roads

A council is to invest an additional £13.5m in repairing and improving a county's roads.
Herefordshire Council will spend the funds to upgrade highways and smaller roads, with works expected to begin in April and continue throughout the summer.
The latest investment follows on from the £8m the council spent on resurfacing roads in 2024.
Councillor Barry Durkin said investing in the county's roads was "a top priority, and this additional investment will help to strengthen the resilience of the network and deliver quicker, safer and smoother journeys".
He added: "Our approach to managing Herefordshire's highways is always to carry out the right treatment at the right time in the right location, and we base this on the information gathered through our regular highways surveys."
