A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving after a three-vehicle crash on the M62 which left a woman seriously injured.
The crash, which happened near Birch Services at about 13:10 BST on Friday, involved a lorry, a car and a truck, Greater Manchester Police said.
The westbound carriageway was closed for several hours between Junction 18 Simister Island Interchange and Junction 19 near Heywood in Rochdale, causing long delays.
A 60-year-old man is being questioned on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and testing positive for driving whilst under the influence of cocaine.
