Benjamin Zephaniah mural unveiled
A mural has been unveiled celebrating the life of late writer, poet and actor Benjamin Zephaniah.
The 65-year-old, from Handsworth, in Birmingham, died in December, eight weeks after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.
The artwork, commissioned by the Black Heritage Walks Network and created by artist Bunny Bread, was unveiled at the Sons of Rest Building in Handsworth Park.
His wife Qian Zephaniah said he gave a "lot of work and a lot of love to society and to people".
She was among a crowd of people at the event at the park, many of them grabbing photos of the new mural.
She said his supporters would be able to remember him when visiting the park and show their love.
The mural was designed to celebrate Zephaniah as Handsworth's "people's champion".
Earlier this month, an apology was issued by a council sub-contractor after another mural was accidentally painted over.
