Rescue operation to secure drilling ship

A rescue operation was mounted after a drilling ship broke free from moorings off the coast of North Ayrshire.

Lifeboats, tugs and a helicopter were sent to assist the Valdaris DS4.

The crew of the 228m (748ft) long ship managed to deploy its anchors after it initially drifted without power.
