Longfield Hospice shop window decorated with festive memorial
A charity shop has created a Christmas window display to remember people who have died.
The window of Longfield's shop in Wootton-under-Edge has been decorated with hundreds of card leaves, each one containing a memorial message.
Paula Underwood, who created the display said: "I asked on Facebook if anyone wants to add a name, and in they came by the hundred, I am blown away.
"I've had people come in and just give me a hug, we all share that grief."
Ms Underwood's partner Dan died three years ago and he used to decorate the shop window every Christmas.
The shop is inviting members of the public to add their messages for free.
"The volunteers at the shop agreed to cut hundreds of leaves out, so they've all got glue burns and scissor blisters," she explained.
"It's a reflection that for this time of year, it's a reminder of who's not there," she said.
Other shopkeepers nearby have also added notes for the window.
Theresa Boyle, a greengrocer, said she saw it all over Facebook.
"Paula deserves all the thanks from Wootton for the window.
"When I walk past, it just looks like angels wings," she said.
