Shopper enjoys 'surreal' meeting with Jack Black
A man has spoken of the "surreal" moment he met Hollywood star Jack Black at a retail park in Leeds.
Daniel Hook, 44, managed to get a selfie with the actor and musician, just hours before he performed at the Leeds Arena with his band, Tenacious D, on Saturday.
Mr Hook said the superstar was "lovely" and happy to pose as he wandered round Kirkstall Bridge Shopping Park with his family.
Mr Hook, who is from Bramley, later posted the photo on his TikTok feed, describing the encounter as "random".
'You're Jack Black!'
He said he had been in the retail park's car park when he spotted the star "just leisurely walking about" and passing time before the gig.
Mr Hook told the BBC: "He looked at me and smiled and I said, "you're Jack Black!"
"I was amazed there was nobody stopping him and no fuss or anything."
Black then posed for a selfie with the trainee plasterer, who added: "He shook my hand twice and he was lovely and very relaxed."
Mr Hook said his partner, Laura, did not initially believe him when he told her who he'd just met.
"He's a big presence and it was all a bit surreal," he added.
"My biggest memory of him was 'School of Rock' and I've always liked his films.
"To be honest, I'm never going to meet anyone more famous than him."
