A pedestrian in her 70s has been taken to hospital with suspected serious injuries after she was "struck by a van", police have said.

It happened on Friday morning at about 10:20 GMT on Brickworth Road, Whiteparish, near Salisbury, Wiltshire Police said.

The silver VW Transporter is thought to have left the road and mounted the pavement, officers said.

The driver stopped at the scene and no arrests were made, police added. Officers have appealed for witnesses and dash-cam footage.
