Event to encourage hiring staff with disabilities
An event is being held to encourage employers to hire staff with disabilities.
The business breakfast at Bridlington Town Football Club will be hosted by Project DANDI, a diversity and inclusion-focused group that supports people with special needs and disabilities living in and around the town.
It will include information about workplace support schemes like Access to Work and talks by disability employment advisors from the Department of Work and Pensions.
The event on Thursday will run from 08:30 GMT to 10:00.
Project DANDI holds a volunteering and work-based learning-programme at the football club which helps adults with special needs and disabilities to experience real-life working opportunities.
It helps volunteers to develop a variety of skills required in the workplace. Activities include serving hot and cold drinks, helping to prepare food and setting up events.
The project organisers are hoping to work with, and support, local employers.
