One man was taken to hospital with injuries to his head and hand after being attacked by a masked gang in Derry.

A masked gang have attacked a man with a crowbar at a house in Londonderry.

It happened in the Fern Park area of Galliagh at about 23:20 on Wednesday.

"The victim sustained injuries to his head and his hand, and was taken to hospital for treatment," the police have said.

Detectives have appealed for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
