A youth football team's Instagram account has been viewed 4.7 million times in the last month thanks to their "ridiculous" training session game.

Each week, the Uttoxeter Juniors bring in random items of the same letter and present them to the camera.

The videos have featured random items like a bra, a Gareth Southgate cardboard cutout and a Hiab truck.

"I think it's a bit ridiculous to be honest," said 11-year-old Danny. "They just told us, the first week, to bring in something beginning with A."

"Pretty much all of us brought an apple," he laughed.

Since the first video, the club introduced a fine system for anyone who brought in duplicate items.

Their video featuring items beginning with the letter J has proved most popular, amassing 6.1 million views via Instagram.

"We've made this club famous," beamed 11-year-old goalkeeper Joey.

The wife of the team's coach Adam Norris first saw the idea on social media and they both thought it would be a fun activity to start sessions.

Mr Norris is pleased how the children and parents have embraced the weekly challenge and can see how it has helped the players to bond.

"I just love how it's like a big family," said centre midfielder Tommy. "We're all friends."
