A Met Office warning for heavy rain has been extended into Monday in the East of England, following a wet and thundery weekend.

An "amber" warning, meaning flooding and travel disruption is expected, has been put in place for Northamptonshire, Peterborough and parts of northern Cambridgeshire throughout the day.

A "yellow" warning, meaning disruption could occur, will also cover the entire region.

The Met Office said some areas could see 60-80mm of rain, and a few places may receive 100-120mm or more.

Parts of the region saw heavy thunderstorms on Saturday into Sunday, leading to flooding and road closures.

The latest information can be found on the Met Office website.
