Schoolgirl makes 'be kind' signs for town park
A poster about anti-social behaviour, designed by a 10-year-old, is going on permanent display in a local park.
Mia, who attends Beverley St Nicholas Primary School, took part in a workshop where 85 pupils were tasked with creating their own posters about the harm of anti-social behaviour.
Mia's design highlighted actions such as bullying, intimidation and littering.
Her artwork has now been turned into sign and installed in Mud Hills Park, off Wilberforce Crescent, in Beverley.
Lyn Healing, cabinet member for communities and public protection at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: "We’re dedicated to building safer communities, and these early interventions are crucial to deterring children from anti-social behaviour.
"Congratulations to Mia on her hard work and I hope it helps ensure Beverley remains a good place to live."
The workshop was designed to help children, approaching secondary school age, gain an understanding of the negative effects anti-social behaviour can have.
