Seven US States have declared a state of emergency and more than 1,700 flights have been cancelled following a winter storm that has left three people dead.
In Washington DC, overnight snowfall covered the capital and brought out Olympian Clare Egan to ski on the National Mall.
Isolated areas of the city could yet see up to 16 inches total of snowfall, according to the National Weather Service.
