A fatal house fire in Stoke-on-Trent has been deemed accidental by investigators.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a blaze at a property in Pennyfields Avenue off Westport Lake Road in Tunstall on 17 December at about 20:30 GMT.

A woman in her 80s was confirmed dead at the scene.

The service worked alongside Staffordshire Police to determine how the fire started.

They extended their condolences to the woman's family.
