New Year's Day warning for 75mph gusts across Wales
Wind gusts of up to 75mph (120km/h) could cause disruption across Wales on New Year's Day, forecasters have warned.
The Met Office has announced a yellow weather warning for "very strong winds" on Wednesday, along with a separate alert for heavy rain.
Up to 50mm (1.9in) is expected fairly widely, with up to 100mm (3.9in) across hills, it said.
Gusts of up to 65mph (105km/h) are likely around coasts and hills, with 60mph (100km/h) gusts likely fairly widely inland.
The rain warning is in place between 15:00 GMT on Tuesday and 11:00 on Wednesday and covers Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd, Merthyr Tydfil, Monmouthshire, Neath Port Talbot, Newport, Powys, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Swansea, Torfaen and Wrexham.
The wind warning is from 00:15 on Wednesday until 15:00 and covers Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Gwynedd, Flintshire, Merthyr Tydfil, Monmouthshire, Neath Port Talbot, Newport, Pembrokeshire, Powys, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Swansea, Torfaen, Vale of Glamorgan and Wrexham.
