Two men charged over serious assault

Two men, aged 33 and 32, have been charged with wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm following an assault in County Londonderry.

The attack happened in Benevenagh Drive in Limavady at about 17:15 BST on Friday.

Police said the victim, a man aged in his 30s, suffered a serious head injury and suspected stab wounds to his torso.

Both men are due to appear before Coleraine Magistrates' Court on Monday.

The 32-year-old man has also been charged with possession of a Class A controlled drug and possession of a Class C controlled drug.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the Benevenagh Drive area on Friday, and noticed anything unusual to contact them.
