Police are investigating after a 35-year-old man was assaulted near a pub in Derby.

Derbyshire Police said they were called just before 18:00 BST to an injured man outside the Five Lamps in Darley.

Officers believe the attack took place in Belper Road close by and the injured man made his way to the front of the pub where he received help from members of the public.

The force added the man received injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.
