A man has been arrested following the theft of electric vehicle charging cables from a university site.

They were reported missing from six machines at the University of Worcester's Severn Campus on Friday.

The university said it still had "ample capacity for students, staff and the community for charging electric vehicles".

West Mercia Police said it was investigating a number of thefts of EV cables across Worcester and Bromsgrove.

The 27-year-old suspect, who was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of theft, has been released on bail while inquiries continue.
